Introducing our PawCon Scrapbook depicting our 2023 Plank Appreciation Week lovingly known by our team as PAW. This year, we hosted PawCon, a two-day conference with workshops and discussions hosted at La Piscine. We urge you to explore all the fun, there are a ton of surprises!
We’ve done some form of Plank appreciation for over 10 years starting with Plank Appreciation Day (also known as PAD). PAD has been spent at places like the North Star for retro pinball machines, the Van Gogh immersive exhibition, La Ronde, Rabaska on the Lachine Canal, and many more. We usually end our day with a nice cold beverage enjoyed on one of Montreal's many terrasses.
After having spent two years remote and apart due to the pandemic, our first ever Plank Appreciation Week (PAW) in 2021 felt more appropriate to adequately celebrate the team that now spans across Canada (& even continents). Now team members from all over visit our Montreal office for much needed bonding time.
In 2023, we made yet another change to our Plank appreciation by creating PAWCON, a 2-day conference filled with various activities. We rented out the beautiful space at La Piscine and it was perfect.
We can’t wait to share how PAW 2024 turns out!
drag to explore
Plank Appreciation Week is all about showing appreciation for every member of our team by putting time aside for team-building exercises, brainstorming sessions, eating great food, and generally just enjoying each other’s company before the Winter season begins.
Say cheese!

Our Lightning Talks had five team members take the floor and speak about a topic of their choice, whatever that may be. From manifesting to content strategy and even tips on how to "spot a tarp", these talks allowed everyone to hear from their peers and learn something new.
How To Spot a Tarp
by Riley
Art can be found in anything. In Riley’s case, he finds the beauty in the everyday tarp. In his talk, he presented some of the best tarps he has spotted and inspired us to see the greatness in the otherwise ordinary.
WordPress Playground
by Dave
Dave showed us the open-source project, WordPress Playground, where you can try WordPress in a browser for easy theme and plugin testing.
Allen Mendelsohn, our lawyer explained Quebec's transformative privacy law, Law 25, in a fun and engaging way.
Indie Games
by Christina
Christina showed us her favourite indie games including the action-filled Hades and the cozy Spiritfarer.

At Plank, we loooove food! It's more than a love story... This year we ordered lunch from Nilufar and Bossa (two great independent Montreal food spots) and ate dinner at the delicious India Rosa
